Home and Workplace EV Charging Across Central Scotland

Electric vehicle ownership in Scotland is growing rapidly, driven by the 2035 ban on new petrol and diesel car sales, rising fuel costs, and expanding public charging infrastructure. But public charging alone is not enough — most EV owners charge at home overnight, and an increasing number of employers are installing workplace chargers as a staff benefit and operational necessity.

Myles Electrical installs EV chargers for homeowners, landlords, and businesses across Glasgow, Stirling, Falkirk, South Lanarkshire, West Lothian, and Ayrshire. We handle the full process from initial site survey through to DNO notification, installation, and commissioning — giving you a fully certified, ready-to-use charger with no loose ends.

Home EV Charger Installation

A dedicated home charger — typically a 7kW wallbox — charges an electric vehicle significantly faster than a standard three-pin plug and is far safer for regular use. Installation involves mounting the charger unit, running a dedicated circuit from the consumer unit, and configuring the charger’s connectivity and scheduling features.

Before installation, we carry out a survey of your property’s electrical installation to confirm that the existing supply can support the additional load, that the earthing arrangement is suitable, and that the cable route from the consumer unit to the charger location is practical. If your supply or earthing needs upgrading, we will identify this at the survey stage and include it in the quotation — no surprises on installation day.

Workplace and Commercial EV Charging

For businesses, installing EV chargers demonstrates commitment to sustainability, supports staff retention, and can generate revenue through charge-point usage fees. We install commercial chargers for offices, depots, car parks, and multi-tenancy buildings, including load management solutions that allow multiple chargers to share available supply capacity without requiring expensive supply upgrades.

What Is Included

Every Myles Electrical EV charger installation includes an initial site survey and electrical assessment, supply and installation of the charger unit, a dedicated circuit from the consumer unit with appropriate protection, DNO notification where required under G98/G99, full testing, certification, and commissioning, and a handover with user guidance on operation and scheduling. We install chargers from leading manufacturers and will recommend the best option for your vehicle, property, and usage pattern.

Grants and Funding

Funding for domestic EV charger installation changes periodically. We stay up to date with the current grant landscape — including any Scottish Government or UK Government incentives available at the time of your enquiry — and will advise you on what support you may be eligible for. For landlords and businesses, additional funding routes may be available through the Workplace Charging Scheme and local authority grants.
