Who We Are

Myles Electrical was founded by David Myles in Cambuslang, Glasgow, with a simple ambition: to be the electrician who actually answers the phone, turns up on time, and does exactly what he says he will. That principle has not changed as the business has grown. What started as a sole trader operation serving the local community has evolved into a small, focused electrical contracting company with a team of five qualified electricians covering central Scotland.

We remain owner-managed and operationally lean. David is still involved in every significant job and personally oversees the quality of work across the business. There is no call centre, no layers of management, and no gap between the person you speak to and the person who does the work. That direct accountability is what sets us apart from larger contractors, and it is what our clients — from individual homeowners to national facilities management companies — value most.

Our Qualifications and Accreditations

Every electrician on our team is fully qualified and insured. The business holds the following industry accreditations, each of which is independently verified and subject to ongoing audit:

SELECT

SELECT is Scotland's trade association for the electrical industry. Membership requires evidence of technical competence, financial stability, and adherence to a code of practice. As SELECT members, our work is backed by a warranty scheme and we are subject to regular quality audits.

NICEIC

NICEIC is one of the UK's leading regulatory bodies for the electrical contracting industry. NICEIC-approved contractors are assessed against the current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations and must demonstrate ongoing technical competency. Approval gives our domestic and commercial clients assurance that every installation we complete meets the required British Standards.

NAPIT

NAPIT registration provides an additional layer of independent verification. As a NAPIT-registered installer, we are approved to self-certify notifiable electrical work under the Building Standards (Scotland) regulations, meaning our installations do not require separate local authority inspection — saving time and cost for our clients.

Safe Contractor

Safe Contractor accreditation is specifically designed for contractors working in managed and commercial environments. It verifies that we meet the health and safety standards required by property managers, facilities companies, and corporate clients. If you require SafeContractor-approved suppliers, we are already on the register.

Our Approach

We believe that good electrical work starts long before anyone picks up a tool. It starts with listening properly to what the client needs, providing honest advice even when that advice is not what the client wants to hear, and quoting accurately so there are no surprises on the invoice. We do not upsell unnecessary work. We do not quote low and inflate later. And we do not disappear when something needs putting right.

Every job, regardless of size, receives a written quotation before work begins. On completion, all notifiable work is certified and the relevant documentation is provided promptly. For property professionals managing multiple sites, we provide consolidated reporting, scheduled maintenance programmes, and a single point of contact for all electrical requirements across your portfolio.

Where We Work

From our base in Cambuslang, we cover Glasgow, Stirling, Falkirk, South Lanarkshire, West Lothian, and Ayrshire. Our operational radius has expanded because clients asked us to — and because we have the team to deliver consistently across a wider geography without compromising on service. We do not overextend. If we take on a job, we will complete it to the same standard we would deliver on our own doorstep.
